healthy cardiff restaurants

I love eating out.

There’s no doubt about it, if I didn’t eat out as much as I do then I wouldn’t need to be in the gym for 90% of my life. Joking aside, making the wrong food choices is why a lot of people are overweight.

With this blog post, I will show you some of the healthiest places to eat out in Cardiff that are not only tasty but also good for you.

1) Anna Loka

Anna Loka was recommended to me by a friend that is vegan, and even though I’m not vegan myself I’m always open to trying new foods and if you have read this blog in the past you will know I’m a massive fan of plant-based foods.

Enough about me though.

Anna Loka is run by a Hare Krishna monk named Adam who started the business in 2015 when he saw the lack of choices vegans had to choose from without the risk of cross-contamination.

I’ve been to Anna Loka a few times and must say the food is great, the Rodeo burger is a favourite of mine, so if you’re looking to try something a little more healthy next time you’re out in Cardiff I highly recommend checking them out.

Anna Loka address can be found below:

114 Albany Rd
Cardiff
CF24 3RU
Tel: 029 2049 7703

2) Milgi Cardiff

Milgi describes its self as “everyday plant-based eating” so that should give you enough of an idea to what to expect. But these words don’t do it justice.

Milgi has both a market stall in Cardiff market and a restaurant on city road. I haven’t visited the market stall but I’ve heard great things about it. The restaurant on city road, however, is amazing.

Some notable menu items include the kale pakora and the detox whole food bowl. If you are watching your calories and still fancy that dessert, you won’t have to feel too guilty eating the chocolate orange no cheese cheesecake.

You can find the Migli restaurant on city road at the following address:
213 City Road
Cardiff
CF24 3JD

3) Crumbs Kitchen

When I told friends I was putting together a list of Cardiff’s healthiest restaurants the name “crumbs kitchen” came up a good few times so I had to go and visit.

Crumb’s kitchen located in the morgan arcade (next to watches of wales) is not somewhere I had been to in the past, I’m quite shocked how I had missed it really, but after the first visit, I was hooked.

Crumb’s kitchen is a family run business that is known for using fresh and organic foods to create delicious and healthy recipes. I have only tried a few items on the menu, the chilli and the curry, yes I love hot food!

Both were great and very affordable too which I was surprised about as vegan food can sometimes be expensive.

You can find crumbs kitchen at the following address:
33 Morgan Arcade
Cardiff
CF10 1AF

Conclusion

When eating out you don’t have to wreck your diet, the restaurants mentioned above not only serve tasty affordable food but compared to other restaurants they will also save your wallet and your daily calorie count, and if that’s not enough the health benefits you get from these foods are the icing on the cake.

There are other restaurants that kept coming up when I was asking about healthy restaurants in Cardiff, which I am yet to try. Restaurants mentioned include:
