What You Get With At Home Personal Training
With at-home personal training, everything is built and planned so you can work towards your fitness goals without having to go to the gym. At home training will concentrate on making training simple and consistent, so you don’t have to worry about working out in busy gyms or getting to the gym in the first place.
I feel this is an important service because I have been told by past clients that they find going to a gym, signing up for one and consistently going each week is intimidating, and I agree. If you have never been to the gym before or have never been shown how you can work out, then it can be. But what I also notice is that clients who hire me for at-home training or outdoor training, before long, gain that confidence so that they feel they can go to the gym on their own, too.
If you choose at-home personal training sessions, I can bring the structure and training to you. We can focus on exercises that work within your space, while helping you to improve on your strength, fitness, endurance and overall health. So even if you have limited space or equipment, you can be sure that there is still something you can do that can get you moving and improve your health and fitness.
Some of my clients also like to work out at home independently, which means I can provide you with online coaching sessions so you have a clear plan to follow at home while receiving ongoing support from me.
This means you still get the guidance of a personal trainer at home, but can work out at a pace that suits you.
This service aims to remove the barriers that stop people from training. I know what it’s like to go into a gym for the first time; it can be daunting, but by working out at home, you can build your fitness levels as well as your confidence, so that one day you can work out in a gym and feel confident.
Making sessions accessible allows you to build a routine and keep progressing towards your fitness goals, and as I mentioned before, long-term, you will feel more confident in your ability, and you will be able to walk into any gym in the country and perform exercises to a competent level.
Who At Home Personal Training Is For
At home, personal training is often the choice for my clients who want a more convenient way of working out. If you have a busy schedule, for example, or find it hard to get to the gym, then training at home is a good choice if it allows you to be consistent in your training.
Let’s be fair, none of us wants to work all day and then go to a busy gym at peak times, especially if you don’t have the confidence to do so. I 100% know what this feels like, so working out in an environment that you feel comfortable in is always going to help you initially.
Some of my clients prefer a more private environment, too, while others feel more comfortable working out at home, especially if you are starting out or if you are getting back into a routine.
For those with busy lives, working out at home will allow you to balance family life, work and other commitments more easily, too. It removes time barriers and allows you to fit sessions into your day more easily.
The whole point of working out at home is to give you a base fitness level, along with the confidence that you know how to exercise, and now you can go do it in the gym. Working out at home is going to limit you to what exercises you can do, but I can bring some equipment so you can learn proper technique, so that when you finally are ready to go to the gym, you won’t be intimidated.
With working out at home, you also have the option to work out online, where I can see your fitness progress and monitor it as we go. Online training allows you to be flexible. Whether you choose in-person sessions or online coaching, you can find a way that works for you, and that’s the most important part of exercising. Being consistent is where you will get the results.
Other personal training options
Some of my clients start with training at home and then move to one of my other types of personal training sessions.
And while working out at home is great for some of my clients after a while, you may want to take a different training approach. Some prefer one-to-one personal training sessions, while others would prefer to work out as part of a group.
There’s no one-size-fits-all sizing when it comes to personal training in Cardiff, so if you would prefer one of those types of training instead, please get in touch and get a free consultation.

FAQS
Do I need equipment to train at home?
The more equipment you have, the more flexible your workout routines can be, but equipment is not needed. Either I can bring equipment to you, or our sessions can be adapted to what equipment you do have.
The whole goal of working out at home is to get you into a place where you will feel more confident about working out at the many gyms available around Cardiff, so the lack of equipment initially isn’t a huge problem, and we will progress as time goes by.
Do you travel to my location?
Yes, with our in-person sessions at home, I can travel to your home, provided you live in Cardiff, and you live in an area where I provide personal training sessions. So feel free to check if I service your area, and if I don’t, get in touch with me, and I will see if this is something that I can accommodate.
Once we have worked out at your home for a while, it may then make sense to take your training to one of the gyms in Cardiff, so you can continue to progress on your fitness journey.
Can I do this fully online instead?
Yes if you would prefer to workout on your own, my online coaching can give you a structured plan to support your goals. Online training is a great way of getting started with working out.
Is at home training effective?
There are going to be some limitations when it comes to working out at home, but providing you have enough space, we can still work on a routine that will get you results. Eventually, I would recommend working up to being able to work in a gym, as that will allow you access to more machines and weights, so you can keep progressing with your health and fitness.
