    Why Choose Group Personal Training

    group personal training

One of the biggest advantages of group personal training is the environment that you train in. Training along with others not only keeps you motivated, but it can make the sessions more fun and enjoyable too.

My clients often tell me that once they have joined a group session, it’s the most fun they have had exercising in years. I think this is important, especially for those people who don’t enjoy dieting and exercising, because having this support network around you will not only encourage healthy habits, but it will also keep you motivated to join in on those days that you don’t feel like exercising.

People may think that being in a group session will mean that it’s like another gym class, but this isn’t true. There will only be a few memebers during a group session so that I can still keep a close eye on everyone and intrvene if I need to with lifting techniques or something else if I need to.

Group sessions are great, and with my group training sessions, you will still follow a structured plan, but with the added benefit of the energy that comes from group training. For many people, this environment makes it easier to stay consistent and stick to a workout routine.  As a personal trainer in Cardiff, I have seen the benefits my clients get from training as part of a group.

Another main reason people take part in group sessions is also the cost. Group sessions are also more cost-effective than one-to-one personal training sessions, so if you are on a budget, training within a group can help, while still getting guidance on exercises, technique, form, and overall progress with your fitness goals.

If you enjoy working out with others and want the support of a personal trainer without one-to-one sessions, then this is a great option.

What to expect from group sessions

Unlike gym classes or some of the other personal trainer sessions that I have seen from other trainers, my sessions are run in small groups so that you still get that personal attention and guidance that you need to reach your fitness goals. Each personal training session will be structured and focused on your fitness needs and your goals.

You will work through a mix of strength, conditioning and overall fitness-based training based on your goals. What you can expect is that exercises will also be adjusted to suit different ability levels, so whether you are new to training or a seasoned lifter, you can still progress towards your goals.

A group training session aims to help you improve week by week while keeping sessions affordable so that you can be consistent and enjoy your training.

Who are group training sessions suitable for?

Everyone is welcome at group training sessions, and in my experience, those who hire me for group sessions usually enjoy the atmosphere of working out with others. Usually, my clients want the structure of a personal training session without it being a one-to-one session.

Some clients may feel that a one-to-one session is a little embarrassing or even intimidating for them, and I totally get it. A group session will be the perfect option for anyone who feels this way.

If you find it hard to train on your own, then group sessions can make a huge difference. Working out within a group can take your mind off the gruelling exercise that you are performing and can help you to get through sessions more easily.

    Other training options

While group training sessions are fun and a great way of keeping you consistent, they aren’t for everyone.

If you need one-to-one support or would prefer to work out at home or even do online personal training, then they are also training options that I offer.

If you aren’t sure of what training would be best for you, then please get in touch with me. I offer a free consultation where you can tell me your fitness goals, where you currently are, and I can then tell you what service I would recommend for you.

    FAQS

How many people are in each session?

Groups are kept small so I can still provide you with my guidance and support during each session.  Unlike other personal trainers, I won’t have 30+ people in a group session.  This is to ensure everyone gets my attention, so they can continue to work towards their fitness goals.

If you are looking at other personal trainers or gym classes, then you should make sure that their classes aren’t too big, otherwise you become just a number and not a client where you are best looked after.

Is group training suitable for beginners?

Yes. Exercises can be adjusted to suit your fitness level, so beginners can train alongside more experienced clients. Not only will this keep you motivated, but it will also help you to learn from those around you with more experience, too.

I find this is a great way to build on your own confidence and experience by seeing what other, more experienced lifters are doing. I’ve coached them to a point where they can confidently exercise, and you can take this experience on, so you progress much quicker, too.

Will I still get a structured plan?

Yes, you will still get a structured plan like those in a one-to-one personal training session.  The biggest difference is that you will be working out with others at the same time.

This means I will still monitor your progress, I will still make changes where I need to, and I will still keep you motivated when you don’t feel like working out.

Is it as effective as one to one training?

One-to-one sessions mean that you have my full attention, which isn’t entirely possible in a group workout session, but that doesn’t mean I won’t still be looking at you to make sure you are working out as you should, so you can be safe and both effective.

I keep my group training sessions small for the very purpose of making sure that every one of my clients gets the support and guidance that they need.

Working out in a group is very effective if you stay consistent.  The main difference in a group session is that my attention is shared across the group.
